RGA members

Our members are rice growers who have been farming for generations and also those who have recently joined the industry. Any rice producer, their family members, and/or Ricegrowers’ Limited shareholder is eligible for membership of the RGA.

We have eight branches: Yanco, Mirrool, Coleambally, Berriquin, Deniliquin, Wakool, Hay and Victoria. Each branch holds a meeting at least twice a year, providing a chance for growers to talk about issues that affect them, as well as to network with their colleagues.

Members elect annually their Branch Executive and delegates to the Central Executive, which is the peak decision-making body of the RGA. The Central Executive considers matters submitted by the local branches, and other matters of importance.

Each of the committees of the Central Executive has a particular focus:

• Water Committee
• Farm Business Committee (incorporating Climate Change Taskforce)
• Industry Affairs Committee
• Sustainability Committee (incorporating Environmental Working Group)
• Finance & Organisation Committee
• Crop Protection Committee (incorporating Biosecurity Taskforce)

The RGA conference is held annually and is an opportunity for members to discuss topics brought forward by the Branches and Central Executive.

The RGA is also serviced by a small secretariat that includes the Executive Director, Policy Officer, ECP Regional Coordinators and Office Manager based in Leeton.
