ABOUT THE RGA

Serving Our Australian Rice Growers

The Ricegrowers’ Association of Australia Inc. is the collective voice of rice growers’ in Australia. The RGA represents over 1700 voluntary members by leading growers on issues affecting the viability of their business and communities.

Uniting Our Australian Rice Growers

The Ricegrowers' Association of Australia Inc. formed in the face of adversity in 1930 to unite the small group of pioneer rice growers into an effective and cohesive force. The legacy is to organise a profitable long-term future for individual rice growers and their industry.

Despite the success of the Association in helping shape the rice industry into one of the most successful rural industries in Australia, today's rice growers more than ever need the Association to continue this task as our rural industries face the challenges of the next century. RGA looks to lead members through a process of improved environmental management.

Role of the RGA

  • To develop and implement policy for the rice industry that is in growers' best interests.
  • To represent the interests of ricegrowers to Federal, State and Local Government and their various agencies, the National Farmers' Federation, SunRice, other interest groups, and to the community generally.
  • To service the specific needs of individual members.
