"The Story of Rice", written by Kim Field and published by the Kondinin Group, was awarded The Australian Award for Excellence in Educational Publishing (Primary Single Title Category) in 2001. It allows students to discover how rice is grown, harvested and milled to make rice products we eat every day. To complement "The Story of Rice" in classrooms a Teachers’ Resource Kit was developed which has a wide range of activities for students to take part in while learning about the Australian rice industry. Designed specifically for students in Years 5 and 6 the information contained in the book can be of use for any age group.
