Australian Rice Industry Talks Trade in Brunei
27 Aug 2013 9:05 AM -
Ricegrowers’ Association of Australia (RGA) Executive Director, Ruth Wade, said “Australian rice is once again present at trade negotiations in Brunei after being sidelined for many years because it is regarded by many countries as “too sensitive” to be discussed.”
“Since we export more than 80% of our production, improved market access is one of the most critical issues for the Australian rice industry. Together with the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) and other agricultural industries, trade is one of our key platforms for the forthcoming Federal election.”
The RGA is very pleased that Milton Bazley, SunRice General Manager – International Commodity, will join the NFF delegation to the 19th Round of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations in Brunei from 24-30 August 2013 being led by NFF President, Duncan Fraser.
