The RGA awaits a Rice Vesting Review announcement

The Ricegrowers' Association of Australia (RGA) is currently awaiting an announcement from the NSW government as to whether or not the current Rice Vesting Arrangements will be extended, and, if so, for how long.
“The Rice Vesting and export arrangements underpin the operation and viability of the New South Wales rice industry” said RGA President Mr Jeremy Morton.
“In turn, the rice industry plays a significant role in supporting businesses and communities across the Riverina. Without vesting, the local rice industry would be structured very differently - hence the RGA’s position on rice vesting could not be considered lightly.”
Public submissions to the Rice Vesting Review were due in September 2016, and since that date the rice industry has been patiently awaiting an announcement from the NSW government regarding whether or not the vesting arrangements will be continued, and, if so, for how long.
