The Murray Darling Basin Plan is being developed and is intended to deal with the future management of water resources in the Murray-Darling Basin in the national interest.
The RGA has been lobbying the Federal Government to ensure the plan will be fair for irrigators, local communities and the environment, and to outline the importance of food production and food security in Australia. The Guide to the Proposed Basin Plan was released in 2010 and more information can be found at http://www.mdba.gov.au/basin plan.
