The Story of Rice

RGA has developed a range of educational materials available on rice and the Australian rice industry including books and DVDs. See below for details.
Also see our Rice  Related FAQs and Rice Factsheets and Publication pages for more information on rice.

The RGA, with assistance from SunRice, has produced a series of videos that tell the story of the Australian rice industry - from paddock to plate.
Learn all about who grows rice in Australia, how it is sown, cared for throughout the season and harvested. The videos also explain how rice is milled and packaged before ending up on your supermarket shelves

This book is designed to help students discover how rice is grown, harvested and milled to make the rice products on our supermarket shelves.

“The Story of Rice” was written by Kim Field and published by the Kondinin Group.

A Teachers’ Resource Kit was developed to complement “The Story of Rice” and includes a range of activities for students to learn about the Australian rice industry. It’s been designed for students in Years 5 and 6, but the information can be used for all age groups.

If you would like to purchase a copy (small donation) of "The Story of Rice" kit or book, call us on  02 6953 0433 or send us an email.
