RiceGrowers' Association (RGA) Board is elected from the Central Executive committee listed below.
The purpose of the Board is to manage strategic direction, governance and operational policy, it currently has 6 member elected non-executive directors and 2 independent non-executive directors.

 

PETER HERRMANN

Mr Peter Herrmann became the 13th President of the RGA in September 2022. Peter has been involved in the rice industry and the RGA for many years, formally in 1998 when he began growing rice himself.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Laws (2AHons Environmental Law) from the Australian National University.

With his wife Katherine, and their six sons aged 14-21, Peter runs a mixed farming operation of rice, sheep, and walnuts at Murrami NSW.

Peter has a passion for enhancing land and water use to create abundance, along with better Public Policy outcomes.

 

 

ANGELA URQUHART

Mrs Angela Urquhart is within the Berriquin Branch of the RGA and currently plays an active role in the rice industry as an alternate to NFF Members Council and the Chair of the RGA Productivity and Industry Affairs Policy Committee.

Angela holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Computer Science and is a qualified Accountant and member of CPA Australia.

Angela also runs a mixed cropping farm with her husband south of Finley.

 

 

 

CHRIS MORSHEAD
Vice President and Non-Executive Member Director

Mr Chris Morshead is the President of the Mirrool Branch of the RGA and currently plays an active role in the RGA Water Committee and  RGA Productivity and Industry Affairs Committee.

Chris runs a mixed cropping farm with his wife and children near Yenda.

SCOTT WILLIAMS
Non-Executive Member Director


Mr Scott Williams is the President of the Yanco Branch of the RGA and has been a member of the RGA Central Executive for the past 13 years.

Scott is the Chair of the RGA Environmental Sustainability committee.

Scott and wife Pam were finalists in the 2020 SunRice Grower of the Year commended on their sustainability and environmental credentials and holistic farming approach. The Williams’ farm is a traditional family run mixed farming enterprise with Scott farming alongside son Carl.


 

JUSTIN SUTHERLAND
Non-Executive Member Director

Mr Justin Sutherland is a third generation rice farmer from Coleambally, NSW. Justin has had a long association with the RGA and is the current Coleambally Branch President and CE Delegate, as well as the Water Committee Chair. Justin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the water space as Murrumbidgee WaterNSW Customer Advisory Group (CAG) Delegate for the RGA.

Justin along with his partner Amanda and three children, currently crop 1100ha of rice, corn, wheat and seed crops on their irrigation property at Coleambally.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

KELLIE CROSSLEY
Non-Executive Member Director

Mrs Kellie Crossley is within the Deniliquin Branch of RGA.

Kellie holds a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics, Diploma of Business and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  Kellie also contributes back to her community and sits on a variety of community and sporting club association committees.

In partnership with her husband Andrew, and Andrew’s parents; Ken and Robyn Crossley, Kellie runs a mixed farming enterprise including winter cereals, rice, sheep and cattle.

 

ROBIN BUCKHAM
Non-Executive Independent Director

Ms Robin Buckham was appointed to the RGA board in September 2021 as an independent director.

Robin has had a significant career across the commercial and academic sectors. Now a Director, with appointments on several not-for-profit (NFP) and State boards, Robin also has a varied consulting practice, working with a consulting consortia.

In her executive career, Robin has most recently acted as an interim executive in the TAFE sector, and at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Earlier, she was CEO of Family Business Australia, a NFP Association dedicated to sustaining and growing family businesses.

Early in her career Robin worked for fifteen years with Australian steel manufacturer and distributor Tubemakers as Manager Oil & Gas Pipelines, managing a steel pipe mill.

Moving to the University of Wollongong, Robin was Director Marketing, Recruitment & Partnerships, and a member of the TAFE Illawarra Advisory Council, Chair of the Regional Development Australia, President of the Business Chamber and a Director of the Port Kembla Port Corporation.

Robin moved to Melbourne to take on the role of Deakin University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor International and Development with responsibility for international and domestic marketing, student administration and support, and external relations. 

Robin holds a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Education, Masters of Commerce (Marketing), and an eMBA from Columbia University.

 

Central Executive

Ricegrowers' Association members can nominate to be associated with one of its eight branches.
Each branch elects delegates to advocate on their behalf in the Central Executive (Members Council). These Central Executive delegates can also join a committee to determine RGAs three policy areas: Water, Environmental Sustainability, and Productivity and Industry Affairs.
