Showcasing the Riverina rice industry at the Farrer Food Fair

SunRice has recently promoted the Riverina rice industry in the nation’s capital, taking part in annual Farrer Food Fair at Parliament House in Canberra in October.
In its third year, the event is the initiative of the Hon. Sussan Ley MP, who is the Federal Member for Farrer, which covers the Riverina.

The event involved more than twenty producers and industry representatives from the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and Murray-Riverina region, showcasing the food and fibre products which are produced in the electorate.
More than 200 MPs and Parliamentary staff took the opportunity to stop in at the main garden courtyard to sample some of the wares on offer.

The SunRice stand drew its fair share of attention as guests enjoyed freshly made Sushi rolls, featuring SunRice Sushi Rice, while being shown some of the company’s innovative rice products, including its new Infusions range, its Mini Bites and Microwave Cups varieties.

Those who attended were also keen to learn about what SunRice is doing to expand its global footprint as a food exporter of rice varieties grown in the Riverina. SunRice was proud to have been involved in the fair, which provides an excellent opportunity to highlight the significant contribution the dynamic communities of the Farrer region make to the nation’s agricultural production.
