"The Plan is adaptive and flexible"

Minister Littleproud and Interim Inspector General for the MDP, Mick Keelty

As we head into 2020 it's on the wave of greater hope and expectation that these long years of trying to work with unworkable Basin and Water Sharing Plans is nearing an end.

2019 culminated with the Canberra Convoy - a desperate call-out from our Farmers, Irrigators  and community members for more water.   With the focus on our water plight, has come greater visibility of the submissions, the policies and the solutions that the RGA and the peak bodies have been pushing all along .

  • Read here how the NSWIC sought clarity of the role Interim Inspector General (IIG) Mick Keelty  having "powers akin to a Royal Commission" in their letter to the IIG 18th November.
  • Read here how the NFF has worked with all of their farming representatives to develop the unified policies that will make our farming futures more viable.
  • Read here, and every month, how the your RGA team work with your elected Policy Committees to define and advocate for your priorities.

The RGA team will continue to work with all stakeholders, community groups  and the IIG's office in our Members' interests, to push for the implementation of the Productivity Commissions' recommendations and to maintain the momentum that has been so hard won.

We remind  Philip Glyde of his own words - "This reform is the first of its kind in the worldwe are all learning as we go. The Plan is adaptive and flexible."
