Feral Fighters Autumn Fox Baiting,Moulamein and Surrounds

Pickup sessions run from Tuesday 10th March until the 17th March.  

 

Feral Fighters are local landholders who work together in groups to bait and control pest animals. 
When you become a Feral Fighter you will receive:
• Free vertebrate pesticide induction training
• Free biosecurity farm gate signs for each participant’s first fox/wild dog bait collection at one of our bait collection days during the year
• Rabbit control - access to free RHDV K5 viability testing for group participants
• Up to date information and support from Murray Local Land Services.
All baits must be ordered a minimum of 3 days prior to the collection date. During the program baits will be available from the Moulamein office every Wednesday and Friday, by appointment only. To place

Touring Hender's Waitchie farm to learn about cropping rotations, export oaten hay, precision ag, weather monitoring systems, machinery and farm management.
Followed up with a tour of the Mallee Hay plant

Livestock basics day

Friday 3 April
Treweek's farm @ 228 Jerry's Rd, Wakool
9am-4pm

Covering the essentials for all in the livestock industry- from new comers to well experienced and wanting to polish up on best practice.
Border Vet Clinic will cover commonly seen livestock health issues, tagging, marking and vaccinating.
We will also have a shearer demonstrating crutching technique, classer discussing wool, livestock broker discussing sales options and a couple of farmers discussing sheep breed choice.

Farm Business Skills Professional Development Program

The Farm Business Skills Professional Development Program is an initiative of the NSW Government’s Drought Strategy and has been developed to support farmers and provide access to vocational and skills training.

Three professional development priority areas have been identified:

  • Risk management
  • Financial and business management
  • Farm business planning/drought preparedness

What can you claim?
Approved participants can claim a 50 percent subsidy of up to $5000 for the first individual.
There is an additional $1000 available per person for a maximum of four people for a total maximum of $9000 per farm business.
This subsidy may be used to cover course costs' including course fees, travel costs', child/respite care costs and/or software specifically relating to a course.

Rice Extension, WinCott & Southern Valley Cotton Growers Association invites women of all ages and experience involved in our irrigation community to come together for a fun morning of networking with yoga, wine tasting and guest speakers to challenge and inspire you and your farm business.

Transport for NSW Support for Primary Producers
Subsidies Now Available.
