Justin Sutherland

In August 2026, Justin was elected the RGA's 14th President.
Justin Sutherland is a third-generation rice farmer from Coleambally, NSW. Justin has had a long association with the RGA and is the current Coleambally Branch President and Central Executive Delegate, as well as the Water Committee Chair. Justin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the water space as Murrumbidgee WaterNSW Customer Advisory Group (CAG) Delegate for the RGA.
Justin, his partner Amanda, and their three children grow rice, corn, wheat, and seed on their irrigation property at Coleambally. -

Monica Morona

Monica is a third-generation farmer from the Deniliquin and Hay region working alongside her parents Nic and Di Morona and brother and sister in the family irrigation and sheep grazing farming business. Along with her partner Daniel and their two children Harriet and Clementine, look forward to introducing the fourth generation to the farming business.Monica's professional connection to irrigated agriculture also runs deep, beginning her policy career with Southern Riverina Irrigators, representing irrigation businesses in the MIL region. Monica has since combined her passion for agriculture with extensive experience in energy, water and environment policy across Commonwealth and State Governments, advising Ministers and senior leaders, contributing to the industry through her role as Vice-President of Ricegrowers Association, and roles within NSW Irrigators Council and National Farmers Federation.
Her family farming business WB Pastoral has recently partnered with Hiringa Energy to develop Riverina Renewable Fertiliser (RRF) low-carbon fertiliser and hydrogen production plant to provide security of supply and long-term price stability to the regional fertiliser market.
Monica holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and International Studies from Monash University, and is completing the Australian Institute of Company Directors' Company Directors Course.

Chris Morshead

Chris Morshead currently plays an active role in the RGA Water Committee and RGA Productivity and Industry Affairs Committee.
Chris runs a mixed cropping farm with his wife and children near Yenda.

Emily Small

Emily has a Bachelor in Medical Science and a Bachelor in Medical and Applied Biotechnology. She has worked for Murray Irrigation for the last 10 years in customer engagement. In this role, she has worked with irrigation farmers across the footprint to help solve their complex inquiries. She obtained a Diploma of Project Management in 2021, completed her Institute of Company Directors accreditation in 2023, and has worked on community boards for the last 5 years.
Emily, her husband Josh, and their two kids run a mixed farming business of rice, teff, sheep, and winter cropping just outside of Deniliquin.

Peter Herrmann

Mr Peter Herrmann became the 13th President of the RGA in September 2022. Peter has been involved in the rice industry and the RGA for many years, formally in 1998 when he began growing rice himself.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Laws (2AHons Environmental Law) from the Australian National University.
With his wife Katherine, and their six sons, Peter runs a mixed farming operation of rice, sheep, and walnuts at Murrami NSW.
Peter has a passion for enhancing land and water use to create abundance, along with better Public Policy outcomes.
